Hello all,
I have been using my stock setup to 1. learn and use for my personal tuning and 2. it replaced my stock ecu since the ecu got messed up. I am using the Moates Demon v2 with Neptune RTP system. But a question i have is that at different times during the day when i start the car the fuel is extremely rich (9.3 AFR) and at other times it's perfectly normal. It does it at complete random and sometimes on the cold start. I've tried adjusting a lot of different things and the only time it seems to work as normal is when it's cold out, and even sometimes it still does it but occurs less when it's cold out. Sometimes i can literally just shut it off, go in the store for a couple minutes and come back out and it's extremely rich. Any ideas?
Side note: I've heard from a lot of people that most if not all of their issues were fixed when they switched over to HTS (Honda Tuning Suite) but I have not made the switch and still wondering if all the kinks have been worked out in the system.
Usually unexpected changes are a symptom of the incorrect compensation tables. For example, if you haven't setup the compensation tables, and tune the fuel when not at normal operating temperature (where the compensations are 0), then when it gets to normal operating temp, the fueling is wrong. So the trick is to figure out which table needs to be tuned. Often it's a compensation table. Pay attention to what Air Temps, Coolant Temp, MAP and fuel pressure are when it runs leaner or richer than expected. Logged data of all the compensating sensors is critical to help you compare to different conditions.
Ok I’ll set it to log before I start it each time incase i miss it. It’s been a pain because it does it on cold start sometimes also. I figured it was in compensation tables but haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet. Thanks.
