Good evening, I'm starting my tuning journey. How do I know what ECU my customer has without me going physically to him for now. There are two options for type of ECU his car can have. I have VIN number of the car, I know the year and model as well. I'm using autotuner hardware, and it shows me two different options of ecu part number for that car.
About the best you can do is get him/her to visually check any identification on the ECU. There will probably be a number of control units on the vehicle, so it would help if you found out exactly where it was mounted for them to check.
