This past weekend was the 2021 Northwest Rally Association RallycrossFest held at DirtFish Rally School in Snoqualmie, WA, USA.
200 cars and 2 full days of competition. Just such a fantastic event, everyone had a great time.
Car is a 2004 Ford Focus Rally car. 2.3l Duratec motor, stock internals, only bolt-on mods, tuned with an Emtron KV8 achieving 182hp at the wheels.
The car is still under development, and we had power steering failure and overheating causing limp mode that prevented a true good result.
But when things worked we did pull off the single fastest 2wd run time at the entire event, and the 11th fastest overall out of 200 cars! This doesn't count for anything but bragging rights, but until I get actual wins I take what I can get. I just need to get the car reliable enough that I can focus on just driving, then I'll be able have consistent enough top times to go for some real wins.
The entire car is wired from scratch by myself, and tuned completely on my own using all the skills from HPAcademy courses.
Engine is still all stock internals, but my big offseason project this year is going to be building the motor using the Engine Building courses. My horsepower goal is going to be 250-300hp normally aspirated.
congratulations on your great weekend, it is always good to hear positive things like this
well done
Regards Ross
