Opinions? It was recommended for use in my mr2 turbo. I am also open to suggestions for alternative ecu's. I have noticed most people do not want to tune it and the software isn't that great.
I am currently using this ecu to learn with, but I don't really have a budget since its a toy. This is a long term project for me.
I can really suggest a LINK G4+ ECU. If you are very fast, you can get until end of November (yes, means only today!) a LINK G4+ Plugin for MR2 for only about 800$. LINK ECU is running a promoto this moth for ST185 and ST205 ECU's. http://www.linkecu.com/2016/11/09/november-promo-toyota-mr2-toyota-celica-gt4/
You can find a dealer in your area on the LINK website.
I can garant you are going to be more than satiesfied with the G4+ platform. Everything is well documented which makes it much easier to start with tuning.
G4+ Is the goods. I've had a poke around in the Nemisis software and it's not to my liking. They make an aftermarket ECU for my car (Toyota 86) but I'd rather work with EcuTek as it's much easier to use. Having an ECU no one wants to touch isn't going to work to your advantage down the track.
