Hey Guys,
Has anyone had any success getting an Innovate LM-2 to successfully connect up to the cobb accesstuner software? I am connecting from mini usb to usb on my computer. But I am unable to assign a com port to the LM-2 for cobb to pick the device up. I am thinking a work around might be to use the serial output from the LM-2 then use a serial to usb converter. Has anyone gotten that method to work? I just sent a message to Cobb as well see if they have any sort of support for the LM-2, I will update once I hear back from them. But I just wanted to know if anyone has had success with the LM-2 and Cobb Acesstuner. If you have had success, how you got it.
Thanks!
To be perfectly honest the Innovate LM2 is a complete ball ache to get working with just about any scanner in my experience but it IS achievable. The first point is that you can't use the mini USB port on the top of the LM2 for a serial input. Instead you'll need to buy the square 4-pin Innovate serial output cable that plugs into the serial In?OUT connectors on the side of the unit. You then use a serial to USB adaptor which also seems to be quite sensitive about. I've had good results with the ATEN adaptor.
Even with all this set up it can be hit or miss getting communication established however my experience has been with HP Tuners scanner and Rom Raider/ECU Edit rather than Cobb. I find that the technique that works best is to start by running LM Programmer and make sure that your laptop can establish a connection to the LM2. Once you've confirmed that, close LM Programmer and start your scanner and you 'should' be good to go. This can require you to repeat those steps between 1-100 times and sometimes it helps if you hold your tongue in a certain way and blink 3 times as you open the scanner (never before). If my sarcasm is lost on you, you need to understand that I've probably lost 20 hours of my life so far on LM2 connectivity issues so I wish you luck! :)
Thanks Andre! I was able to get the LM-2 to work using their serial cable, then using a serial to usb converter just like you said. Thanks again!
