Hi all
i have a 1976 Mk1 Golf that is currently running twin 45 Dellortos. It runs great and has done many track days in the 7 years since I did the build. However, I need a new challenge and there are definitely some improvements that need to be made (they are smelly old carbs after all).
I have collected the parts to do an ITB build running on DBW, except the ECU, which will be either a Haltech S2 or the new Link Neo 4 (depending on when Link actually release).
My first question is the age old, do I really need a MAP for compensation? There is no a/c, heavy draw alternator, etc
I am 99% sold that I do, so then the next question comes to where to take the pressure taps on each runner.
I can either tap them into the top of the manifold runners (green spots).
OR
the head I am using has blanks where the old mechanical injectors sat (red circles). These are directly over the inlet valves. I could make up some bungs with a vacuum nipple on the back, but is there any issue with having the vacuum take off so close to the valve?
I also plan on welding up the booster take off and running an electric vacuum pump.
