Hi everyone!

First time posting on the HPA forum. Need a little bit of advice and guidance on what parameters I need to work on within the EcuTek software for the new Toyota GR86/Subaru BRZ platform. When it comes to tuning, I understand the logic behind it and what are the steps needed to further progress in the tuning process, as I've learned within the HPA courses, is to apply the 6-step tuning process. Watching one of the practical applications in one of the courses, I try to apply what's done in that module, to my tune. However since the provided practical application is on the 1st gen FRS/86/BRZ, not all of the maps are the same & not all have been identified within the software (e.g "fuel system status" is the parameter I need to log to know if in CL or OL fueling mode, and it doesn't exist in the Gen2 ECU). I kinda got a little stuck so need someone who's experienced in this platform to shine some light.

To give a little background of where I am now, I've started by attempting to rescale the MAF sensor (maps: "MAF Sensor","MAF Sensor 2", although there is 1 sensor only on the car) to compensate for the GR performance Intake I've installed. Im planning to have 3 maps on the car, with map1 being the stock untouched map (although just compensated by a MAF rescale), and maps 2&3 will be where I apply some changes.

Tuning the MAF rescale map in closed loop under light loads, Im happy to say that the fuel trims are within 5%. When trying to tune the upper part of this map for the higher loads (80g/s of airflow and above), I try approaching this by modifying the "RaceRom Fuel map 2" to have a 12:1 AFR target on higher loads, to see how far off the target AFRs are from the Actual AFR. However, as I have logged this within the ramp run, the AFR target was not 12:1 sharp (for reference on that last run, the Actual AFR was deep in the 11s). Would there be any other map that is contributing to this result?

I would appreciate if someone experienced can provide a little guidance on where do I need to proceed from here. The modifications performed on the car are:

GR performance Intake, Catless EL header with overpipe, Catted front pipe, GJP Flexfuel kit.

Regards

Salman,

MAF scaling is performed the same as the prior gen, but update both MAF tables with the same values, and I don't touch the airflow values that are below zero.

You can tell you're in open loop when fuel trim short term becomes 0.

There are many fuel tables, but the Power AFR Fuel Map is what you're asking about.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
