when a cars running high load and knocking on a dyno what effect dose it have on the a/f lambda if using a probe up the tail pipe of the
exhaust ?
cheers
The occurrence of knock doesn't show up as a discrepancy in the air fuel ratio as measured in the tailpipe. Remember that the air fuel ratio is fixed at the point when the intake valves close on the compression stroke. The ignition timing or knock won't alter this unless the engine suffers a misfire in which case you will get a lean reading due to the unburnt oxygen passing the sensor.
