Hey guys.
So I am looking for a new ecu, future proof for my needs, car is an old Opel Ascona rally car, thats rwd with 2L 16v turbo engine (c20xe), H pattern 5 speed gearbox.
When I`ll bite the bullet and go for a new ecu, most likely I will need it to support sequential gearbox, drive by wire, traction control, and for pops and bangs - fresh air antilag.
That being said, what ecu can you suggest that can do all of this natively, with least compromises?
I was looking at Motec M800, but my tuner suggested to go for Maxxecu race, most likely because of the age of Motec ?
Any suggestions are welcome.
The M800 is discontinued and while they are still a good ECU haven't been in active development for quite a while.
An M130 with GPR should cover all your needs if you were looking at MoTeC.
I am not looking for a particular ecu, price / performance will decice which route I will take.
Motec M1 series is a bit confusing for me, I do not understand the pricing for them, is that because of diffrent firmwares, if so, where can I find the list of them ?
Thanks for suggestion.
Nearly all modern ecus should be able to run that, I'd look at something with good l9cal support/dealer network.
My tuner suggested Maxxecu Race, looks promissing, just want another opinion or confirmation.
Also after some market investigation, motec seems to be overpriced, atleast for gold box ecus.
It all depends on the support. A good MoTeC dealer can understand your projects and future goals, and make sure you purchase a product that will meet your needs now and in the future. That's a similar story with most dealer sold products.
So look around, find the dealer or shop you want to work with, and let them help you select a product they will be happy to support.
