Good day,

Could you please share your experience with Injector Dynamics MoTeC built-in calibrations? Actually I'm a bit confused with two options provided:

* Injector Dynamics ID1700.1.0.0

* Injector Dynamics ID1700XDS.1.0.0

And I'm somewhere in the middle having 1700X injectors. I tried to find an answer on the forum and on other resources with no luck. I saw a few posts mentioning that XDS has the same core as X, so XDS calibrations may be used. I tried to find the data provided by Injector Dynamics and managed to find 1700, 1700X and 1700XDS product pages in web archive:

1700: https://web.archive.org/web/20150814231650/http://injectordynamics.com/injectors/id1700/

1700X: https://web.archive.org/web/20170607211314/http://injectordynamics.com/injectors/id1700/

1700XDS: https://web.archive.org/web/20240920211544/http://injectordynamics.com/injectors/id1700-xds/

And one more page available on the website: https://help.injectordynamics.com/support/solutions/articles/178424-injector-dynamics-slope-offset-vs-pressure

Using the data on these pages I could not identify any difference between three types of injectors, I assume that probably minor changes were introduced, but the core itself remained unchanged. I found a comment on Motec forum left by Tony confirming this assumption. What confused me more is that non-x/x/xds injectors have the same part numbers (e.g. 1700.48.14.R35.6 for Nissan GTR R35).

I checked calibration raw data in AppData\Local\MoTeC\Calibrations (attaching for reference), two files definitely look different, e.g. 1700 calibrated up to 15V and 1700XDS up to 16V, calibration axes values are also different, but values in the same points (e.g. 50psi, 14V, 25ml fuel volume) are quite close, ~1,5-3% difference, but I'm not sure if it's true for all the values in the calibrations. Also 1700 has 8.4Ohm, 1700XDS - 8,8Ohm.

Is there any difference in 1700/1700X/1700XDS? Which calibration would you recommend for 1700X?

Thank you!

I would absolutely used the Injector Dynamics ID1700XDS.1.0.0.

Even if there were minor differences, they would just get baked into your tune.
