Good afternoon all,

I have just been watching the 4D webinar and have a question about multiple throttle bodies.

If I had a 4 cylinder engine running 4 throttle bodies, all being fed by a common plenum chamber, plus I have Lambda sensors per cylinder, would it not be better to have a fuel map per cylinder to allow for the inconsistent airflows through the throttle bodies, or is this not something that is available of needed ?

Thanks

Stu

Assuming the plenum, or rather cold air box, was well designed and sufficiently large, then the ITBs would actually be expected to give a give a better fuel distribution than a single TB & and actual plenum, because that is more likely to have air distribution issues internally.

Of course, there may still be variations due to the head casting and exhaust variations.

If you have the budget, a lambda per cylinder is always a useful tool for finely tuning fuel variations - although this may be expected to be down more to slightly different injector flow characteristics.

Thanks Gord
