New Plex Knock Monitor SW and FW released

Hi Guys,

For those of you that have the Plex Knock Monitor V2, Plex have released a new version of the PC software and firmware for the device itself. Both versions are now at revision v0.67, and it appears to carry many bugfixes, improvements and new features.

Here are the release notes:-

FIRMWARE v0.67

NEW: menu 8.4 to enable automatic start directly in monitor screen for in car applications

NEW: options for fixed 0V and 5V outputs added to analog outputs for calibration and test purposes

IMPROVED: better digital filtering for the RPM signal when trigger mode > 2

IMPROVED: additional error indicator for the can bus in menu 4.5

FIXED: when the USB cable was disconnected the device would freeze

FIXED: the Knocking Cylinder analog output now indicates the actual cylinder instead of the cylinder position in the firing order

FIXED: the can bus messages per cylinder level and count data now represent the data from the cylinder number instead of the cylinder position in the firing order

FIXED: Analog Output2 would mirror the Analog Output1 value

SOFTWARE v0.67

NEW: options for fixed 0V or 5V output added to analog outputs for calibration and test purposes

IMPROVED: drop down selection menus when editing the configuration now have the current value preselected

IMPROVED: drop down selection menus when editing the configuration now appear with the correct color theme

IMPROVED: after writing a configuration the device is commanded to reload it from memory so that a restart is not required

IMPROVED: the cylinder number buttons in the realtime screen now display the correct cylinder numbers according to the firing order

FIXED: error in displaying and sending the Analog Output 1/2 settings

FIXED: when changing a preset name to a shorter one characters beyond the new name length would be copied from the previous name

FIXED: after writing a configuration the device would not remember the selected preset for the next start up

Firmware and Software versions 0.70 have been released by Plex. This fixes a few bugs in the CAN setup that I reported to Plex - they fixed it very quickly and I am quite impressed with the turnaround!

FIXED: The CAN TX ID was not displayed in hex as the label indicated

FIXED: The CAN TX ID value would revert to the previous value when another configuration setting was changed

FIXED: When disconnecting the USB cable during realtime data transfer, the software would freeze

Firmware v0.70

IMPROVED: in menu 4.6 acceleration has been added to the CAN Id value change

FIXED: in menu 4.6 the can bus transmit id was not displayed correctly

FIXED: the yellow and red leds would still be activated event if the level and warning threshold

FIXED: in menu 4.5 the trigger input was not activated

I reported some of those same CAN display bugs! Glad to see them fixed.

Their support is awesome! I'd say quite a few people came across those bugs as they were slightly annoying!
