here in my country the max fuel grade is 92 ron for sure im using water/meth and lower the comp. to 9:1 on bmw m50 strocker 2.8 with all of this i had knock when the boost enters ,and sure alot of ignition retarded ,i got an idea im not sure its gonna help or not , i have a 870 cc injector at 3 bar if i raised the pressure on the inj the fuel gonna be ionized more causing less detonation ,i saw the direct inj had a pressure of 1000 bar , is this a way can solve my problem ? ( my project is drifting so i should advance as much as possible )) thank you

9:1 is still relatively high for a turbocharged engine running a poor grade of fuel so water/meth injection will definitely be an advantage for you. I haven't personally seen any real benefit in terms of knock suppression from running higher fuel rail pressure. Yes it will help with atomisation and this may have other side benefits that won't directly affect the knock sensitivity of the engine such as improved fuel economy as the fuel is being injected in a more finely atomised form that is able to more easily combust.

The injection pressure of DI is essential because these injectors are injecting directly into the combustion chamber against cylinder pressure, and they also have a very short window in which to inject the fuel. The advantages of DI come from the fact that the fuel is being injected into the cylinder and you aren't going to be able to achieve this advantage with port injection.

If it's a race-only car then I'd suggest looking into a race fuel with a higher octane rating for your events. I'd assume someone in your country imports these? Alternatively I'd suggest dropping the compression a little further.

thats my problem here out gov. cancels any import of gasoline ,and now you telling my its useless to run a high pressure on a fuel rail so what to do? , lowing the comp.will effect the throttle responses and makes me should gives more boost tends to lag and this a drift car with holset super hx40 1.28 a/r , i can have toluene give me a percentage with my fuel 92 ,thank you :D i made my car from a to z with my self my ecu is megasquirt ms3-x and doing fully suq. fuel and coil per plug ,closed loop afr and knock and some other futures

Decrease the compression ratio or run another engine with higher displacement. If your car is a drift project use a V8, it's far higher reliable than a turbocharged dwarf.

BTW: 2.1L 3SGTE on IMSA supra ran 7.0:1 compression ratio and released 671 bhp)

If you're limited on the fuel you can run then your result is going to be compromised. There is no magic solution unfortunately. You can run less boost or a lower comp ratio. As I mentioned, water/meth injection will be beneficial and you may benefit from adding toluene to your fuel as well. Toluene was a large component of the fuel back in the F1 turbo days, however it's not an additive I've got any personal experience with so I can't advise.

I wouldn't advocate dropping the compression ratio too far, but a one point drop to 8:1 will be helpful given your octane. I'd be surprised if this makes a noticeable difference to the response as in competition the engine will always be high in the rev range and on boost.

If you can't get the sort of power/response out of this engine on your limited fuel, considering a larger displacement engine may be a viable option.
