Just trying to figure out if my knock sensors are reporting low numbers?

I did visibly check the knock sensors recently and they have no cracks or wear on them. I also tested continuity to the ECU and both came back fine. They also both tested around 550k ohms. I need to find some time to stick the Picoscope on them as the final test.

A quick Google sees people talking about between 20-60 for their RB26. Now, I may be getting nowhere near any det as as I'm using the Power FC base timing (with +4 across some of the rev range while road mapping) which I believe is very conservative but thought I'd check here in case anyone has seen the same or can offer any guidance.

Thanks.

Briefly adding an amount of timing sure to cause detonation at a light load condition is an option to verify this.

Listening with det cans as a backup can help you confirm.

Thanks Mike, I was too quick to say they were good. Once I removed them from the engine block there was corrosion on both and cracks underneath. Not bad for 32 years old mind! I've got some replacement Bosch ones coming.

Ah well done!
