Ive been wondering this for a bit. Built a RB26, thinking of going up to 8500 rpms.

What would be safer to the engine reliability? Sometimes i do bang the limiter so im wondering.... Fuel cut or Ignition cut? Im using a z32 ecu on it limited to 7200. Im just wondering if im better off using a Bee-R or something similar to switch to ignition cut.

It depends on how sophisticated the ECU is. On an old throttle cable system like that, fuel cut is fine. Sometimes it's a hard fuel cut and the engine just hits a brick wall. Other times it cycles and you basically bounce off the limiter.
