Hi new to the forum,
learning mapping at the moment for my build.
but thought this would be a good place to ask this question.
what are peoples thoughts on a rear twin turbo setup?
going for 1000hp built engine 4.2v8.
only reason for rear mount is just because of no room. What do think
cheers
luke
I'm aware of a few rear-mount turbos that seem to operate just fine. It seems like all that plumbing would be bad for turbo lag, but the claims are that it's no different in practice from a front mount turbo. Don't forget to figure in oil plumbing if your bearings are oil cooled.
Is the Island even big enough to use a 1000 hp street car?
Pre-turbine volume/surface area will effect boost threshold/response.
If you are going to run drop sumps/scavenge pumps for rear mount turbos you may as well look hard closer to the front of the car, even if low mounted to improve response and minimise materials/weight.
