Hi Guys
Sorry if this has been asked before
I have a mk3 supra 7mgte I have bought a twin scroll manifold and a hx35 twin scroll turbo
The manifold only uses 1 wastegate I have a 60mm tial wastegate to go on but I notice the 2 sides of the manifold obviously come together to one flange about 50-60mm before the wastegate
My question is will this still act as a twin scroll manifold or will the pulses come together before the wastegate and ruin the whole point of it been twin scroll
I have searched google and it’s been asked before but there doesn’t seem to be a conclusive answer with proof only hear say
Some people say it’s pointless without twin gates others say that’s what HKS do so it must be right
Anyone got any first hand experience?
Cheers
Si
I've never tried a back to back with a twin scroll manifold with the two different styles of wastegate separation, however I've always gone to great lengths on the manifolds I've built to maintain separation right up to the wastegate valve.
Hi Andre thanks for the reply
when you say separation right to the valve do you mean 2 separate valves or separated to as close to the valve as possible?

So these days the most common method I see is to use a separate wastegate off each side of the manifold. If you want to integrate a single wastegate then the recommended method is to include a divider that runs all the way to the back of the wastegate valve which means the two scrolls are completely separate when the valve is closed.
Hi Andre
Thanks for the reply
