I'm building a twin scroll manifold for my 2zz motor and there is not a lot of room to ensure equal runner length for the manifold, would it still be beneficial if the 2-3 scroll have a much shorter runner than the others? Would I simply lose the benefit and should just go with a log style manifold to save space? All I've seen of aftermarket manifolds are equal length, however on factory cars I've often seen the length really differ even sometimes having cylinder 1 really short and 4 run across the flange to the other side of the engine.
You will still see a boost threshold benefit. May have run cylinder trims to get the best out of it.
Cylinder trim as in individual cylinder fuel trimming?
Hello i have done a fair amount of testing different length runners on turbo engines and there is an advantage to having somewhat even lengths give or take a couple of inches, I did find that more than that the did drop off in the rb and 2jz engines we tested.
