Dear mates,

I just wanna share a problem and a solution that I have come across a couple of days ago. The issue is that I have access to an e30 bmw with a 2jz engine, controlled by Vipec v44, the ecu is tuned by a professional tuner and is password protected.

I wanted to start practicing what I have learnt from HPacademy on this car. I have "saved the tune as" and had it as a file on my laptop. I wanted to load a new base tune and start from scratch with tuning this engine. What I was afraid of was reuploading the professional tune back to the ecu. I thought I wouldn't be able to upload it back without knowing the password. So I have posted this concern on Link/Vipec forum and I got a reply confirming that reploading the tune can be done without knowing the password !

That might be a basic piece of information for some of you guys, but let it be as a confirmation for those who know it, and a solution for the others who don't.

Here is a link of the thread:

kindly share what you think, and I hope I have helped somebody here !

Cheers,

AMER
