I am working on a 4G63 build and am wondering if there is a special set of tooling available to "lock" the hydraulic lifters for setting timing or if that is even a thing on these engines? Proper procedure for essentially "setting lash" if necessary would be wonderful. Thank you!
good day, i ended up purchasing some stm adjustable solid lifters to install on the no.1 cylinder adjusted at 0 lash as under hydraulic pressure this is what it simulates. i read this on some evo forums. in doing so i was able to dial in my cams accordingly for the customer according to the cam card. after i was done i removed the cams, reinstalled hyrdo lifters and reassembled.
There is much simpler way to get it done.
