hello all just have a question on injector phasing with EMU Black ecu I am tuning a Mazda K series v6 with a firing order 123456 I am looking for clarification on my thoughts on the injector phasing for this engine and I think it would follow the firing order in this case 123456 am I on the right track? thanks!

I'll let this thread do a better job explaining, but yes typically injector phasing follows ignition event order. Can get a little tricky to wrap your head around on EMU Black with the way its worded, got me for a bit.

And post some pics! I have a KL-DE project i'm slowly working on

As Tyson mentioned, phasing order will often match ignition order, but on your ECU it has to be set manually.

I'm not familiar with the particular engine you're working with, but since you said the firing order is 123456, that sounds unusual and may require alternate settings that do not follow that order.

Is there a chance that's the ignition output order required, meaning the order the output wires from the ECU are triggered, but not the actual cylinder firing order?

Are you running direct spark and sequential injection or is this a wasted spark batch fire situation?

What type of ignition system are you using? Coil on plug, distributor, ?

thanks for the info, I am running coil on plug and sequential fuel the coils are dumb ford mod motor coils and the ecu is firng them, I added a cam trigger also checked system with scope feature from emu black and everything looks good no issues while cranking engine modes move from synct to crank to afterstart I thats a step in the right direction. I am using large injectors so I think getting the fueling right may take a effort.

Yup that sounds like the ECU believes the triggering signals are present and valid. As long as the coils and injectors are firing on time and in the correct order, supplying the right amount of fuel, and a sufficient amount of air for the engine to fire up, is a good next step.

Hi Mike, 123456 looks to be the correct firing order for that engine, it is used on the Commodore V6 engines as well, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the input I did do some searching and found a 350Z base map with the same firing order as my K8 and injector phasing does follow 123456 sequence also so looks like that is the ticket.
