Hello everyone.

A friend of mine has damaged his FA20 and looking for a long term solution.

As we are out of 98 or 100 octane fuel and 95 is the only choice to go, would it be a better idea to get the engine with lower CR? He is looking to buy a stage2 short block from IAG Performance with 10.5:1CR.

https://www.iagperformance.com/iag-stage-2-5-fa20-subaru-closed-deck-short-block-for-2013-19-brz-fr-s-gt86-10-5-1-compression-ratio/

He is not going to fit the turbo or compressor for now. Cylinder heads remains the same, btw.

Can it still run the DI and stock ECU or some mods required?

Hello 10.5 compression Ratio will be a good option on this fuel if the stock ECU is reprogramed using the appropriate software like ECU TEK
