Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
I might as well introduce myself, I coach motorsports drivers across the United States and have been tinkering around with cars for years. I found this group after diving deep into motorsports telemetry and wiring. Looking to learn more and starting a new project to get an old (just about as old as me) Porsche 944 up and running again. In the last couple days I’ve made progress but some of the things I will need to do:
1. Rebuild wire harness.
2. Cut and weld new floor pans.
3. Fix all the mistakes previous owners made to the electrical system.
4. Disassemble cylinder head and replace a bent valve, replace gaskets.….
and probably many more things to tidy it up.
So far I’ve stripped most of the interior I cludi g the seats which were rusted in place. I had to get creative to move them forward. Starting to document what I’ve found and which wires go where (currently).
I will definitely be using this platform to update my wire harness with some Deutsch connectors and more reliable connections throughout. I might be swapping the ECU but that is a ways off.
Hope to connect with some of you to share ideas.
Welcome!
