Hi everyone,

I'm new to trying to tune but it has been on my list of things to learn for a while now. I currently drive a 2011 Subaru STi using a Cobb Accessport on a Stage 2+ OTS map.

I previously had a 2004 WRX that had full bolt ons and a Blouch 18g-xt turbo which was tuned by Wicked Innovations in RI. Since then I've been fascinated by tuning but have always been afraid to dive in and learn what to do. Everyone I ever talked to always said "You want to learn to tune? That's awesome, but get ready to blow up a few engines." This scared the sh!t out of me and so I never fully immersed myself into learning how to tune.

So far from the courses that I've taken I can see now that it does really seem to be based in science and isn't the black art that everyone claims it is. Can't wait to learn more!

Greg

P.S. Oh and if any of you guys have experience with Accesstuner Race I'd love to hear how you were able to apply HP Academy's lessons to that tuning platform as there seem to be some differences from the rest of the tuning platforms being used.

Hi Greg,

Welcome to the forum, I don't have any experience with Cobb but if you have any specific questions of an area you'd like to know how to implement one of the lessons post up what you are looking at with screen shots and other members will be able to chip in and help out

Welcome Greg , as far as blowing stuff up Gos if u do ur research and have a good understanding of what ur doing you should be ok just make sure u know what knock sounds like and start rich with the timing retarded to a good safe setting and take ur time.
