Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hello Everyone,
I am Kevin Perdue. I am in the US Air Force working as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician (basically the bomb squad). I have always loved cars and anything to do with them, but that grew exponentially since graduating high school. At first I started with the normal "modifications" in the form of car audio. That soon grew to larger proportions as I blew the motor in my 1990 Honda Prelude and didn't have the money to pay someone to do the work for me. Since then I have done many engine swaps, mostly in the Nissan realm. SR's, RB's, etc.
I currently have two projects that I am undertaking. One of them is going to be my daily driver and light track day car, so that my wife has the reliable vehicle.
The first build is my daily driver build which is a 1991 240SX (S13) that I am swapping a SR20DET into. This car is a preamble to my other build, since I will be doing a lot of stuff I have not done before. I am currently waiting on the engine to come back from the machine shop so that I can blueprint the engine followed by final assembly. Once the engine is installed in the car, I will be building my own wiring harness. Not only the engine harness, but the entire chassis harness as well. Again, this is mostly practice for the other car. I will also be tuning the car myself which is a daunting task, but I am sure HPA is going to help tremendously with that!
My second build is a car I hold near and dear. That is a 350Z that I have owned for almost 10 years now. This car is going to be a dedicated drift car build. I plan on this car being a twin turbo LS build. Of course plans change quite often, although I already have the engine and it is mocked up in the car. While the S13 is going to be built to the club level, I plan on the 350Z to be built to the professional motorsport level! The 350Z has a very long way to go, but I hope to have the S13 running before the end of the year.
Cheers,
Kevin
Hey there Kevin, I already spoke to you via email but welcome once again. That second picture didn't work for me for some reason, but good to see the Z =D
The Z here needs some more love soon, has been patiently waiting for some wiring love. I hope you're enjoying everything so far mate.
Yes we have spoken on multiple occasions via e-mail and I absolutely love everything about HPA!
I believe the second picture may just be that it is too large. However it is nothing exciting since it is just a normal S13 Coupe with pop-up headlights.
Honestly the SR-Z has been making second guess my plans... Kind of makes me want to flip flop the direction of the two cars! lol
No need to second guess, you have a solid plan mate. It's hard not to want to do everything different but all at the same time though eh haha
