Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hi all!
Firstly, I think HP Academy is brilliant and is providing answers to literally all my questions - thanks guys!
I have always been interested in engines and how the work. I find it fascinating how you can modify them to produce more power and torque. I have already finished both the Engine Building and Tuning Fundamentals courses (excellent btw!) and feel way more confident.
I was lucky enough to buy my dream car (R32 Skyline GTR) back in February and am hoping to put my new knowledge into good use. My first plan is to just modernise it and make full use of the existing setup with further upgrades later on. (£££ depending...:-S) Fortunately, it came with good upgrades including; R34 turbos, Apexi downpipe, HKS Super Turbo Muffler exhaust, HKS oil pump, Nismo clutch and LSD's. It is running on the stock ECU at the moment which I believe is not great. Therefore, my first plan is to install a Haltech Elite 2500 (future proof) with associated sensors etc.
I am open to any suggestions :-)
All the best!
Nick
Cool garage...
Which part are you from?
Hi Gord,
Thanks! Its not my garage unfortunately, its a good mates. One day I'll have my own like that! haha. Based up in Inverness. :-)
Nick
Ah, been there many times as a lad - actually born and bred in Helmsdale, a long (long...) time ago - a fair bit north of there.
You won't be far wrong with a Haltech, I think they have a plug and play kit for the R32 and its well proven. Your local-ish options would be Omex, Emerald and motorsport electronics but this will be a more involved process. Syvecs and Link both also do PnP solutions for the R32 and are UK based or really well represented over here so you've got a lot of options:-)
