Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hello everyone,
My name is Rick, 35 years old from the Netherlands.
I have a history as an car mechanic for about 10 years of which 5 fulltime. After which I decided to do something different. Went back to college and got my electrical engineering degree and now I'm an PLC software engineer for the last 5 years already for a machine building company.
Back to cars, during my first years as an mechanic I bought my first car, an 1996 Honda Civic EJ2 coupé 1.5Dxi. Bone stock with a tow hitch on the back haha. After using it a my daily for a while I took it to the track for a short trackday session. From that moment I was hooked and decided to build a tracktoy out of it.
I ended up competing for a couple of years in the Dutch Time Attack competition:
But due to an oil leak, which damaged the motor and some personal circumstances it sat in storage for a couple of years. But now I'm working on getting is back on track! I've rebuild the motor and recently did some rust repairs and repainted it inside and out:
Now I'm working on putting in an ECU Master PMU-24 and ADU-7 dash together with an completely new chassis harness.
There's also something else very cool on its way to me, but more on that when it arrives.
Target is to have it on track again in 2024.
Welcome Rick and thank you for joining us!
Welcome Rick,
That looks like a great project, I'll look forward to seeing the progress
