Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hi everyone, my name is Jonathan and I thought I would introduce myself here. I've been a relatively long time member of HPA but thought that I would finally formally introduce myself on the forums. I am normally a lurker in forums but thought I would finally open up as my passion for tuning has increased significantly in the past year. So far I have stuck to minor tuning of my own vehicle (02' Turbo IS300) but as my knowledge furthers, at some point in the future my goal will be to start tuning for living, if not, a side gig. Wiring seems to come quite natural to me and I enjoy making patch harnesses and custom harnesses as well as troubleshooting wiring which has actually made me some side money. My background in motorsports consists of a successful "career" in Autocross with my 79' VW Scirocco taking home many class wins as well as a try at driving my fathers rail dragster. Recently I began making an attempt at participating in track days at Summit Point Raceway in my NB Mazdaspeed Miata to further surround myself in cars. There is not much in terms of motorsports in my immediate location except for drag racing at the local track Maple Grove, unfortunately drag racing is not a primary attraction to me as I've always taken interest in circuit racing. Inspirations of mine are the 90's motorsports of Japan along with the local driver/team Chris Rado of World Racing and his participation in various racing series'. I am hoping to use this community as a new family/friendship to encompass myself with, in hopes to further my tuning knowledge and have a place to call home.
Thanks again!
