Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hey folks ... My name is Jak Stoll... I have a small tuning and fabrication shop... I've been an automotive technician for 40 years and have also tuned for decades... Started with jetting carbs and curving distributors in the early 90s .... In the early 2000s I had a tuning business where I primarily did Saab tuning but also did some other standalone engine management and OE engine management tuning as well as a lot of fabrication work at the time I had built some of the fastest Saabs in the United States .. The recession took me out at that time and I went back to work as an automotive technician for 10 or 12 years and have re-entered the tuning industry now sort of making a fresh start of it I have a deep understanding of engines and computer controlled mechanical devices but a little behind the times :-) so I'm learning from HP academy and grateful for the opportunity some new things :-) I drift a BMW E30 and have a lot of fun with that :-) I use the BMW M20 B27 with the b25 cylinder head turbocharged run sequentially on ECU master EMU :-) I wish you all well and I look forward to learning allot and getting to the point where I don't feel like I'm behind the time so much.....
Jak
Hi Jak and welcome to Hp Academy, that feeling of being behind the times is something I struggle with. You have a huge skillset that most younger tuners will never have the opportunity to have. I also cut my teeth on carbs and distributors and generally turning spanners and tuning anything I could, the good learning days with limited resources and lack of internet we gave it a go. often making mistakes and learning from them and fixing it in our own time,
good luck Jak and enjoy our learning platform
