Discussion and questions related to the course Motorsport Fabrication Fundamentals
Hi i´m Daniel i´m a entusiast i open this post to show my version of the tig table build.
i build the table very similar to the original but i change the filler suport, and i made a second stand because the electrodes and some fillers usually came in his own box and i find more usefull a second stand.
Other mod i made was an extesion i leave the tubes open in the ends and now i can introduce another tube in and putting some wood or iron sheet having an extension or one per side.
thanks for your time.
i had bougth a welder from stalhwerk but it boke, and the send me a part to repair the welder broken too, i liked the machine but i had to refound, now im lost what to buy...
Nice little table.
I'd suggest maybe making up a frame/support for the vice that can slide into the table, like the extension - that way you can fit the vice when you need it, but when you don't it doesn't get in the way.
There are many companies making clamps, and other tools, that fit into 16mm, or 5/8", holes in commercial tables. You could drill a few carefully placed hole to enable you to use those? For example - https://buildpro.stronghandtools.com/product-tag/welding-clamps-pliers/ - but there are many other suppliers, too.
It would be nice an extraible vice, but i find very hard job, i think that weldind some nuts it can be easy to get out, only two bolt.
About the clamps, for the moment i don,t need these, i thoug making and extension almost flat whith the table and whith tubes parallel and separated. in this form i can fit normal clamps. but quite a hard job too.
