Discussion and questions related to the course Motorsport TIG Welding Fundamentals
I understand that a gas lens replaces the need for a collet body, but does it replace a collet wedge as well? I'm looking to run the Edge GasLens 920 with a CK FL150 torch and the Everlast Powertig DV200.
Yes, you will still need to run a collet. The CK FL150 torch takes 17,18,26 style hardware and the Edge 920 gas lense is for the 9 and 20 style torch. You will need a stubby gas lens, a short-length collet, and the correct insulator for that combination. There are "stubby gas lens kits" available from various suppliers. CK worldwide also have a parts flow chart with corresponding part numbers for your torch.
Will this be your first tig welder?
