I have recently fitted Yellowspeed coilovers to my 2006 Mitsubishi Colt CZT, following the instructions provided by the manufacturer. They specify not to alter the spring cup as it's factory preset, and to make ride height adjustments by raising or lowering the shock body in the lower mounting bracket.

After watching this module, I wonder why the manufacturer would provide specific instructions that are seemingly wrong?

Also the rear suspension of my car has a beam axle with separate spring and shock. I'm assuming the same principle should apply to this too?

In order to fit the rear, I have compressed the spring by 5mm and attached the shock to the axle, in alignment with the 5mm spring compression.

Looks like I now have to remove and refit most of my brand new suspension 😭
