Hey everyone,

I am new here and would like to see if anyone has any experience designing and tuning motorcycle suspensions. I am currently building a café racer out of a 1983 GL1100. I cut off the rear frame and intend to make a mono shock style suspension. Due to the weight of the bike I have opted for using 2 shocks from a Yamaha R6 YZF. I am also using the progressive link set up in order to have a progressive spring rate.

I have set the swing arm angle to 15 degrees to help with anti-squat when accelerating off the hop but what I am wondering is how to properly set up and test that the progressive linkage is actually working as intended. I am currently working through the suspension basics course as well as the 3D modelling and design course to see if I can help myself better understand how the suspension moves and any issues I will encounter but if anyone has actually designed this type of set-up from scratch I would appreciate the guidance!

Thanks!
