If it's not really about tuning or wiring. Then it belongs in here.
I currently have a bone stock 1998 Evolution 5, and I want to run about 300WHP safely. what mods are the necessary? The pump gas in my country is very low quality and is equal to about 90ish octane in the US.
I would say you need 3-port solenoid, 255 lph Walbro fuel pump, raise boost up to 1.6 bar keeping an eye on fuel injectors duty cycle. Evo 9 turbo and good quality fmic are nice to have. Also it would be good idea to go one step colder with spark plugs and make spark plugs gap about 0.6-0.7 mm. Changing exhaust diameter to 75 mm would make it easy to achieve your goal, otherwise the back pressure from stock exhaust will always cause combustion chamber overheating when high load is applied for extended periods of time.
But most importan thing would be proper ignition timing tuning since the quality of pump gas is not so great.
BTW I'm taking about 300whp on Mustang dyno. If you want 300 whp on Dyno jet - just raise the boost)))
Is this possible on the stock ECU?
On some of them yes, it is possible.
