Happy I bought the course as after watching rod to stroke ratio im now starting understand why making a 2.3L stroker by using 100mm crank/std length rods and stroker pistons may not be worthwile .

Obviously I haven't finished the course and I haven't purchased anything but interested if any other options available for the 6 bolt (vr4)

Oh I see, 94mm available

Yep. In my opinion it's the best option - you get more displacement but still can rev it very high...

cool thanks, I was only finding 7 bolt options in the crank.

here is my updated plan now - not buying anything yet until I finish course lol

Do you have any opinions on this?:

94mm Eagle Crank 6bolt (2037005900A6)JE Asymmetrical Forged Pistons (297479)Eagle Extreme Connecting Rods (CRS5900MBXD)

It's a good set. I had brand new 100 mm crankshaft from Eagle and 156 mm rods - qood quality stuff but never used JE pistons, have always been buying CP and Manley...

It'd be a good idea to carefully think about what you're wanting from the engine, as there may be better bang-for-buck options Shota, and others, can suggest.

Yip, I have time to think on it, not buying anything in a hurry.

I have a motor already in the car (all forged internals) making about 350kw, I have another spare motor I want to build for it ... Open to all options but my thinking was if I have to buy new internals anyway maybe I should do something different.

Mainly wanting faster spool

Decisive factor is usually the application- what the goal is.... Fast street, drag, rally etc... For instance you can get the best spool with 2.4L stroker and MMC stock automatic transmission but it's not what going to hold tonns of power and not reving high. On the other hand with 2.2 L engine you can loose a bit in turbo spoling comparing to 2.4 but get very long power curve revving from 3 to 8 thousand RPM with manual transmission. I hope you see where I'm going with these examples...
