I needed to move my car out of garage without a exhaust manifold on it and wondered if my engine would damage anything Internally as a result of idling out of garage and into my driveway. Exhaust manifold is being welded up at another location for a larger t4 turbo. Car is running on e85, and shoots fire out of each bore when started. Its been a long on going debate of " it will melt, or burn valves" because of the hot air hitting the cold and thermal expansion. Was curious as to the fact of the whole matter.I haven't had any problems yet, but i don't plan on driving it around town or anything. Besides without turblow, its slow.

I wouldn't think it'd damage the valves, more than likely it could start an engine bay fire if it runs like you describe
