Does anyone have some input on whether or not rotating a throttle body 90 degree's and having the throttle plate open side to side vs top to bottom would cause any issues? vehicle is a GC8 Subaru EJ20 engine.
The only issue I can see is collecting moisture on top of throttle blade near to the blade shaft positioned horizontally and getting it inside the engine every time you start it up...
Do you mean changing the axis from horizontal to vertical? About the only thing i can think of is it 'may' bias flow one way or the other on light to moderate opening.
I've never had an issue doing it on Subarus. While it's not something I do often, sometimes it's needed for clearance. Having the DBW connector on top frees up a lot of space underneath.
