If it's not really about tuning or wiring. Then it belongs in here.
Hello friends.
I drive a 2008 model Hyundai Getz with a 1.4 gasoline engine and manual transmission.
When I start my car, it vibrates at idle. The vibration is sometimes felt in the steering wheel and dashboard trims. This vibration is more noticeable when the weather is cold. When I step on the accelerator or drive the car, the vibration stops. What do you think could be the reason for this?
I changed the engine mounts and spark plugs of my car, but the vibration still continues. Injection coils are intact and working.
Thank you all in advance for your answers. Best regards
Almost all 4 cylinder engines will have a degree of vibration at idle, due to the firing sequence and second order imbalances, and some are worse than others. Not knowing the vehicle, or what you would call "noticeable", I can't say whether there is actually an issue, or not. It might be something as simple as a slightly too low idle speed.
If the car has a mechanical throttle, you could adjust the idle slightly higher, and see if that helps - the manual should have the nominal rpm range, and use a proper automotive multi-tester or OBD2 tool to check the speed, because the dash' tacho' may be slightly out.
