Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Corner Weighting
What data logger would you recommended for track days/budget competition use?
Suspension, GPS, engine, etc. or do you have a different preference?
Hi Mike,
AIM and Racelogic make some nice products if your thinking about fitting a track day/race data logger; both of these brands allow you to expand and adapt what you would like to record.
Do you have a way of engine data logging at present?
It is preferable to have both some engine information (rpm, throttle etc) combined with the chassis data - this could be a g sensor if you don’t have the ability to have independent suspension data; Brake pressure, steering wheel angle, individual wheel speed also are good channels to have.
These will allow you to compare your laps and your driving to find where you could gain; and where you are loosing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Dave, will take a look at AIM & Racelogic
Currently have no method of logging any data except a stopwatch!
This will be my first trip into the world of data logging except for shock setup on mountain bikes
Hi Mike,
Just following up on this post, not sure if you're already gone out and bought something. The course we just released a few days ago: Data Analysis Fundamentals has a deep dive into the different options available and what might suit you best!
Cheers,
Tim
