Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Corner Weighting
I have a 2019 Mustang GT Track car set up. I have a square wheel set up in the front and rear with 305s on a 19 inch rim. To fit the front wheels I used a spacer, but not in the rear. How does this ratio in front/rear track ratio impact the way the car handles? Thank you
OK, might be incorrect, so don't take it as gospel.
The main affect of the track width is going to be in the potential roll resistance of the axle - it is possible to use more roll resistance in the suspension geometry as the tyres have more 'leverage' with the wider base.
There will also be less load transfer across the axle, which should increase total grip on that axle, so fine tuning may be required to correct the balance.
How much also depends on the suspension design used.
