Hi HP academy fam,

I have a boosted stock 2jz-ge engine wired with a ecumaster classic ecu and as I try to do a full throttle run engine starts to break up at around 80 km/hr have had someone told me I need to go higher on the coil dwell time. Does anyone have an idea of what the issue might be? Fuel pressure is set at 43psi.

current coil dwell time is set as follows:

6v- 5.75

7v- 5.75

8v- 4.25

9v-4.00

10v-3.75

11v- 3.50

12v-3.25

13v-3.15

14v-3.00

15v-2.75

16v-2.75

17v-2.75

I would try reducing the spark plug gap before I increased the dwell over the recommended values for the coils.

as david said try lowering your spark plug gap to maybe 0.028 for low boost and 0.022 high boost,

and for the dwell time haltech recommend the setting below for 2jz-ge, it works well no issue with 30 psi on g35-900 turbo.

6.50 5.75 5.00 4.75 4.50 4.25 4.00 3.90 3.75 3.65 3.50 3.00
