Hello guys,

I just have a small question.

How can i go about making an ignition Map from scratch for a boosted car without a load bearing dyno? On the course videos ,Andre explained that by his experience he knows how much timing an specific engine will prefer. What happens is that in my country we dont have a lot of dynos so we have to tune on the street, most of them are inertia only so trying to optimize the ignition Map cell by cell its almost impossible. Can i have some tips on how to make a base ignition map for this type of application?

Hello every car is a little different but if you have a look at the after market ecu suppliers base maps they are normally pretty much the same that is a good start

there is a lot of things as the video showed that can affect ignition time such as fuel type compression head design and the list goes on and on

Thanks a lot Ross.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
