Hi I'm learning the tuning process on a cheap scooter, so road tuning with a veriator would not work well, so I was thinking of lifting the back wheel to run free and limiting the veriator so the ratio stays constant , and then applying load with the rear brake to try steady state tuning this way, will it work and if not why not?

hello it will work just be careful of heat it the brakes. i friend of mine made a simple loading device for his motorbikes out of an old industrial electric motor he cut enough off the top of the casing to drop his wheel into it and used the inertia of the stator a retarder
