Hello Andre. Your video on conrod balancing is very well done. Great info there. I do have a couple of questions though:
1. For the linisher, what type of belt do you recommend for removing material from 4340 alloy conrods?
2. When removing material from the small end of the conrod, do you prefer to use the radiused side of the linisher, or the flat part?
Hey Steve, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of info on the belt I'm using. It's designed for metal linishing (many of the cheaper hobbyist linishers are sold with a belt suited to wood working which won't work well on steel) and it's 80 grit. Most hardware retailers should be able to help you out with something to suit. I tend to use the rounded part of the linisher on the small end as I just find that I get a better finish.
