Hello, I am refreshing my Nissan ca18det and I would like to know how can I calculate or how do I know what ring gaps should I have, the engine will be working with about 1.3 psi of turbo pressure if that matters.

Thank you, Victor.

The ring manufacturer, or supplier, should have provided something with a listing of different applications and a gap of thou' per inch of bore, or tenths of an inch per mm of bore - something like this https://www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/get-your-gap-right-piston-ring-gap-explored/

NOTE, different ring materials will have slightly different expansion rates, also NOTE, if re-ringing the bore will have a slight taper from wear, and that will open up the ring gap when measuring - by a smidgon over 3 times the wear - so you're safer measuring the gap close to the bottom of the bore to be safe.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
