Hi i am rebuilding my sr20det s13.

I found a piston oil squirter stripped probably due to an overtorque from the former owner

what are my options?

is a helicoils possible?

I don't see why not. Just need to be VERY careful when cleaning the area and oil passages afterwards, to ensure no debris left behind.

Other options may be using a squirter with a larger bolt bore and drilling and tapping to suit, or if there's enough material in the OEM squirter, boring it out.

Overall, helicoil, or similar product, would be my choice.

okay perfect. I think to delete them because I have forged pistons would it be a good idea?

I would do a helicoil. As Gord said, make sure you clean it very thoroughly.

The advantage of deleting squirters is additional oil pressure, but comes at the cost of less piston cooling... I would personally keep them.

i wouldn't delete them just because of forged pistons, i would consider deleting them if the car only runs for short bursts at high load such as drag racing.

if circuit racing they would help, drifting i am not sure as they can be short runs but grass roots drifting ive seen is much more constant use.
