Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Motorsport Wiring - Club Level
As above can someone tell me what gauge wire I should use? Particularly the motor + / - pins. From what I can tell, the connecter that plugs into the the throttle body can take up to 20 AWG wire which is only good for 4A according the HPA's wiring guide. The connector at my ECU end can take up to 16 gauge.
Thanks for anyone's answers
I typically use 18 awg for motor pins, and 22 awg for everything else. Depending on the motor, I bet 20 awg would be work, especially if the OEM chose a connector with those size pins.
Thanks. I'll think what 'll do is try a test crimp using 18awg as I'd prefer using a larger gauge wire if at all possible
I find the Bosch DBW pins pretty small. I've used a 20 awg (tefzel mind you) many times without issue.
