In my not quite finalised design I have 12 power grounds from the ecu in 20 awg and a slighter heavier (still to be determined) power ground for coils going to star earth point on cylinder head. Should I bring them all together into one pretty large ring terminal and crimp them as one (may need a heavy duty crimper to do a good job)? Or splice them into a large wire just prior to the earthing point? Or break them into (for example) 4 lots of 3 wires crimped in small ring terminals and bolted to the same point.

On a similar note do I actually need to use all the ECU grounds? I guess manufacturer plans for the most extreme scenario but if I add up the max draw of all the outputs and have enough wires to sink that current will that be acceptable or is more earth always better.

Hi Luke all options work fine my preference is to break it down to two groups into two terminals bolted to the head. and you cannot have too many earths

Can someone post a photo of this as an example?
