I'm wiring up my power relays for an Ecumaster EMU Black installation and was wondering if someone could take a look at my proposed scheme, please? I am using a solid state relay block made by MSD (link). It provides 4 x 20A relays and is a bit different to conventional relays in the way the relays are all permanently powered (by a single power feed directly from the battery). You then get to trigger each relay by providing either a high or low side signal. I have grouped the four relays as follows (pic attached):

Relay 1 = ECU Power

Trigger = High side (ign-switched +12v)

This powers the ign-switched input (G18) on the EMU Black, as well as my dash and wideband sensor. The EMU Black will get its B13 constant power feed from elsewhere.

Relay 2 = Coils & Injectors

Trigger = High side (ign-switched +12v)

This powers the (dumb) ignition coils and injectors

Relay 3 = Fuel Pump

Trigger = Low side (EMU Black AUX output)

This powers the fuel pump

Relay 4 = Rad Fan

Trigger = Low side (EMU Black AUX output)

This powers the rad fan

Are there any issues with this configuration? My only doubt concerns the separate triggering of relays 1 and 2 with ignition-switched power. Would it be better to use the Main Relay Output of the EMU Black to trigger Relay 2 (coils and injectors) instead?

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
