Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Motorsport Wiring - Club Level
I currently don't have DBW but I want to have provisions in my harness to quickly swap over once I'm ready to make the switch. Would the best solution be running dummy wires in the harness and not terminating them or possibly doing all the wiring and terminations with a connector hidden under the intake and by the ECU? The current setup is GTR R32 with a wire in G4X xtreme. I'm looking for some guidance on the best route forward to include as I move forward with my first wiring harness. Any other guidance or tips and tricks is appreciated.
Typically your DBW Throttle Body or Actuator will need two high current wires (16-18ga) for the motor +/-, and 4 low current wires (22ga) for the throttle position sensor: voltage reference, ground, signal 1, signal 2.
Your Pedal sensor will need 4 low-voltage wires as well (voltage reference, ground, signal 1, signal 2).
You can leave these unterminated, or put an intermediate connector, so you can build an adapter harness to whatever actual connector (and length) will be needed for the selected components.
